Why Hire a VA for Just One Day

So, I'm sure the question you're asking yourself is, why would I bother hiring a virtual assistant for one day? Well, hiring a VA for a day is similar to hiring someone to fix your furnace or remove that tree in your yard in danger of falling on your car or to paint a couple of rooms in your house - it's typically something that only takes one day for a professional to do, but would take several days, a bucket of tears, a dash of sweat and maybe some blood for you to accomplish yourself.

See where I'm going with this? Hiring someone for just one day to clear out the pile of admin can only help.

Picture this:

You start your day with a 20 item to-do-list, containing at least 12 items that should have been done a week ago.

Enter: Your VA for a Day! At 8am I would take a look at your to-do-list and prioritize the work for the day by asking three questions for each item:

  • Is the task overdue? (by how many days? weeks?)

  • In relation to the other tasks how important is this task? (ie: are we missing out on revenue or holding up other people from doing their job if this task does not get done today?)

  • How fast can I get this task done? (5 minutes? an hour? 3 hours?)

This step would take me about an hour. Once complete, I get to work. I knock out the overdue, high priority, but quick to do tasks first. Making my first couple hours of deep work the "most" productive on paper. 8 tasks, done by 11am! Then I move on to the overdue, high priority, more involved tasks. By 1pm, another 4 tasks are done. And just like that we are more than halfway through your list and there hasn't been a single tear shed!

Finally, I move on to the quick, low priority tasks and knock those out too - 6 more tasks done by 2pm. And last, but not least, the final two lengthy, but lower priority tasks are tackled by 4pm.

There you have it!

20 tasks done in 8 hours. 1 hour of prep to set us up for success in the day, 7 hours of work and your life (or at least your business life!) is back in order!

And that's why hiring a VA for a day can be one of the best things you do for your business (and your sanity)!
